Massachusetts Driver's License Renewal
Please read this before renewing your Massachusetts Driver's License.
This transaction allows you to renew your Class D or Class M Massachusetts Driver's License.
You cannot renew your license online if:
- you wish to keep your Social Security Number as your license number
- have a license photo that was taken before age 21
- hold a commercial driver's license (CDL).
- need to change your name.
- have initiated a "Change of Address" transaction on our web site but have not yet received a confirmation email.
- want to register to vote.
- want to add or change the organ donor designation printed on your license.
Instead, please visit a R.M.V. branch office.

Important: To prevent a lapse in your license, please complete this form at least seven days before your license expires.
Please Note: Your renewed license will be mailed to the address we have on file for you. If you need to change your address, you may do so online. Be sure to wait until you receive confirmation from the Registry that your address change has been completed successfully before you attempt to renew your driver's license online.
